Quarters for Critters
The Chippewa County Humane Association needs your quarters! Since opening in 2005, the shelter has taken in many more animals than anyone expected. Our septic system was not designed to handle the amount of water we have had to use to wash bedding, clean kennels, public restroom use and bathing of animals. We were in the process of fixing this with a diversionary drain field when the cold weather came. We thought we could beat the cold and get the system in. Unfortunately, work started but halted because of the frost levels. Until the ground thaws we have to watch our water usage. This means we can only spray-clean cat areas 2 times a week, limit animal baths, and take our laundry to a laundromat. Thats where you can help! Collect your quarters and bring them to the shelter! Every quarter helps!
Other ways to help: Bring us your old bath towels. Bath towels are comfortable and easy to wash. Donate disposable housetraining pads. These are comfortable and absorbent and can be thrown away instead of laundered. Save the trays from canned cat food carriers. These make great disposable litter boxes.

Funding our Shelter "Forever!"
The CCHA has started a fund with the Community Foundation of Chippewa County to begin our long-term goal of creating a self-supporting financial resource for the shelter. Your donation may be used in perpetuity for our long-term financial health by donating to this fund. Your gift, along with many others, is invested and the earnings of the fund are used as operating funds for the shelter.
Ways you can really help to make a long-term gift to the CCHA include:
*Give a one-time or yearly donation.
*Give memorial gifts in honor of a special person or event.
*Remember the CCHA in your will.
*Name the CCHA as a beneficiary of your IRA or retirement plan.
*Name the CCHA as a beneficiary of your life insurance plan.
*Encourage friends and family to remember the CCHA with planned gifts.
You can make a gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets to the Foundation. Most charitable gifts qualify for maximum tax advantages under Federal law. Contact the Community Foundation of Chippewa County to let them know your giving wishes and please consult an attorney or financial advisor if needed to make these arrangements. The staff, volunteers and animals in our care thank you!
